Who is Shawn Murray?
TheIWCenter.Com is managed by me, Shawn Murray. If you search for me on the internet, I'm the one that's NOT a famous wake boarding champion. ;-)
Ancient History (if you are interested)
For almost 10 years, I've worked at Microsoft. In 1998, I was hired by Microsoft to be a systems engineer working with enterprise accounts in Georgia and the Carolinas.
I lived a year in Redmond where I was the Program Manager for "Worldwide Technical Readiness", which basically meant I was in charge of training our technical consultants and systems engineers on Windows 2000. After the launch of Windows 2000, my role was no longer required, so I came back to the field as a Technology Specialist focused on infrastructure solutions (active directory, terminal services, Exchange Server, etc.).
I spent six years as a systems engineer/technology specialist. I helped launch many products, including Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Exchange 2000, Office XP and Office 2007. For a couple of years, I also managed a team of amazing technology specialists here in the Southeast.
Currently, I work as a Business Productivity Solution Specialist for Microsoft in the Southeast District. That means I work with enterprise customers in the Carolinas on productivity applications and collaboration technologies. I spend most of my time informing customers about Office 2007, SharePoint, Exchange, LCS/OCS, and the rest of the information worker focused Microsoft products. In this role, I've had the pleasure to create and maintain this site.
Prior to Microsoft, I was the technical education manager for a large Microsoft training center in Raleigh, North Carolina. I trained hundreds of students on NT 4.0, Exchange 4.0/5.0, and other Microsoft products. I got my start in training teaching people how to use WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, and the Microsoft Office applications.
I attended North Carolina State University, where I majored in Political Science. GO WOLFPACK!!!
I hope you enjoy this site and the content I've created. If you'd like to send me feedback, feel free to email me at TheIWC at Microsoft.Com.
